Past LAD Meetings
2020:
Bridging Laboratory and Astrophysics
In response to the coronavirus outbreak and the steps taken worldwide to limit its spread, the annual meeting of the Laboratory Astrophysics Division (LAD) was converted to a fully virtual conference this year. It was held jointly with the 236th American Astronomical Society (AAS) virtual meeting. The LAD meeting was devoted to the interplay between laboratory astrophysics and other fields in astronomy, planetary science and related sciences.
This year, the LAD plenary session was given on 2 June by Paula Caselli on "The Crucial Interplay of Laboratory Experiments, Observations and Theory to Unveil our Astrochemical Origins.” We also held our Business meeting on 1 June.
The LAD meeting was divided into 6 sessions covering a broad range of topics:
- Cosmochemistry and Dust (Monday, 1 June)
- Astrochemistry (Monday, 1 June)
- Nuclear, Plasma and Particle Astrophysics (Tuesday, 2 June)
- Atomic Data for XRISM (Tuesday, 2 June)
- Ocean Worlds (Wednesday, 3 June)
- Planetary Atmospheres, Protoplanetary Disks, and Small Bodies (Wednesday, 3 June)
and included two iposter sessions on Monday, 1 June and Tuesday, 2 June.
