55th DPS Meeting

Tools & Resources

DPS-EPSC 2023
55th Annual Meeting of the Division for Planetary Sciences joint with EPSC
San Antonio, Texas & Virtually Anywhere
1 – 6 October 2023

For those concerned about safety during your visit to Texas, here are several resources to help plan accordingly. The downtown area along the Riverwalk where our meeting is located is safe in general, catering to many visitors and conventioneers worldwide.

The Marriott hotel conference venue will have dedicated gender neutral restrooms as usual for AAS/DPS meetings. At the San Antonio airport, dedicated family restrooms with lockable doors are located in both Terminal A & B. In Terminal A, locations are on Level 1, across from the Baggage Claim area and on Level 2 adjacent to Gate 12. In Terminal B the location is near the United Club.

The Bonham Exchange, San Antonio’s premier dance club, is a short walk from the hotel. Certain nights with live music and typically Thursday night drag shows require a cover charge.

Southtown Arts District is a ~15-25 min walk south with numerous friendly restaurants and home to the Blue Star Arts Complex where we host the local Astronomy on Tap SATX (each month).

The San Antonio College area, near the Scobee Planetarium, also offers friendly venues a ~20 min walk north, although a drive is recommended to avoid under the highway crossings. Similarly for the North St. Mary’s street strip.
